Duperon Education is a spin off of Saginaw-based Duperon Corporation, the industry leader in water-flow management products, started by inventor/entrepreneur Terry Duperon in 1985.

The MidMichigan Innovation Center announces their newest tenant, Duperon Education, LLC. Chris Krieger, President for Duperon Education, relocated the operations headquarters to expand his entrepreneurial education business and leverage the resources available at MMIC.

When prime office space became available within the Innovation Center, Duperon Education (DE) decided the timing was right to make the move from their previous location in Saginaw. DE's office is located close to the reception area, and the main conference room of the 107, 000 square foot facility, easily accessible to visitors and guests. "The primary reason for the move is the synergies between DE and MMIC," said Krieger, "Hosting entrepreneurial training here will be convenient and provide our students with concrete examples of entrepreneurs and small businesses working to commercialize their products and services. And the MMIC is connected to numerous resources that can help us as we grow our organization and assist student businesses."

In addition to the entrepreneurial atmosphere, Krieger also appreciates the advanced information technology network and communications system available at MMIC, which he has access to as a new tenant. "The IT network here allows me to do things much more efficiently and professionally, at a fraction of the cost I would have to pay if I were to do it all on my own." Examples include access to MMIC's secure servers for e-mail and data storage, accessible by Krieger and/or his co-workers anywhere in the world an Internet connection is available.

DE is a spin out of Saginaw-based Duperon Corporation, the industry leader in water-flow management products, started by inventor/entrepreneur Terry Duperon in 1985. Duperon realized his company would be more successful if he shared his unique invention and entrepreneurial principles with all of his employees.

The training empowered employees to improve their departments and pursue their own dreams. "I truly believe we can grow empires right here in our back yard," states Krieger.

Having trained over 400 students to date, Krieger plans to host his first training session later this fall, and will also be holding a field day at the Innovation Center for students from the local colleges and universities.

Duperon Education is the 15th business to take occupancy in MMIC's facility since its launched in July 2005.
